Job description

Transform Binapani's educational content from 'informative but skippable' to 'I watched this awesome video, loved it, and shared it!'.

Academic Script Writer (YouTube)

About Us

At Binapani, we aim to make learning personalized and unforgettable. We believe education and learning should be fun and engaging as well as tailored to the needs of the learner.

We make AI-powered educational tools and software solutions for students, teachers, educators, and institutions. With a deep love for education at our core, we build products and content that meet learners where they are.

We create YouTube content covering interesting topics from Science, STEM, Culture, History, Geography, and more — and we want it to feel less like a textbook and more fun, interesting, and engaging.

If you believe education should feel like a YouTube video you can't skip... you're in the right place.Check out our YouTube channel: @binapani_edu

We're looking for creative thinkers and writers with a strong academic backbone — people who genuinely understand the subjects they write about, not just those who can Google well.

You should be a storyteller at heart who can transform knowledge into compelling stories. If you love explaining concepts, writing explainers, blogs, or scripts, tutoring peers, making physics or science memes, and making learning interesting... you're exactly who we're looking for.

If you grew up watching content from Veritasium, Vsauce, Kurzgesagt, 3b1b, India in Pixels, PBS, etc., you understand what we classify as "good" educational content.

WHAT IT TAKES

• If you've ever paused a video — not to take notes, but to rewrite the script in your head — this is for you.
• If "you were thinking it wrong the whole time" is your favourite plot twist — this is for you.
• If you explain concepts the way your favourite teacher did — with a story, a joke, or a moment of "ohhhh!", not just the "wow" — this is for you.
• If your rubber duck has a better grasp of thermodynamics than most textbooks — this is for you.
• If you've used a meme to explain a concept — and it was scientifically accurate — this is for you.
• If off-script is when the best stuff happens, but your script is why it can — this is for you.
• If your proudest achievement is a video someone almost skipped — but didn't — this is for you.

Role

As our Academic Script Writer, you'll transform Binapani's educational content from "informative but skippable" into "I watched the whole thing and shared it." You'll take well-researched topics and reshape them into scripts that hook, engage, and stick — the way the best teachers do.

You're free to bring your own style. We love three in particular:

• The Classroom Teacher — who builds concepts step-by-step with storytelling and analogies that make students fall in love with the subject.
• The Myth Buster — who opens with the wrong idea most people hold, makes the viewer nod along, then flips it to reveal the truth. Memorable, sharp, effective.
• The Entertainer — who wraps the learning in Gen Z energy, pop culture references, and pure creative delight — where the entertainment IS the education.

Pick your style. Mix them. Surprise us.

Key Responsibilities

• Write engaging, well-researched YouTube scripts for STEM and educational content.
• Craft strong hooks that pull viewers in within the first 10 seconds.
• Simplify complex academic concepts without sacrificing depth or accuracy.
• Adapt tone for different formats — long-form explainers, Shorts, concept breakdowns.
• Collaborate with video editors and the content team to bring scripts to life.
• Research topics deeply — bring your own academic insight, not just search results.

Qualifications

• Strong writing skills with a natural storytelling instinct.
• Solid academic background — STEM preferred, but any subject you can write about with depth and clarity works.
• Ability to simplify complex ideas without losing their essence.
• Familiarity with YouTube content formats and what makes people actually watch.
• Prior experience in content writing, scriptwriting, teaching, or tutoring is a strong plus.
• Passion for education and an unshakeable curiosity to keep learning.
• Passion for research, reading books, and a deep understanding over "LLM generated content" is a must!

Compensation

• Per-deliverable structure: you get paid for each script successfully delivered and approved.
• Rate is discussed during the interview — based on your experience, writing quality, and subject depth.
• No fixed hours, no fixed quota — deliver great work, get paid fairly.
• Ideal for students, freelancers, or educators looking to do meaningful creative work on a flexible schedule or as a side hustle.

Location

Remote, with the city of joy, Kolkata, in our heart!
Our team spans the globe but shares a singular vision — making learning personal, powerful, and worth watching. We believe in breaking boundaries, not just in how education is perceived and delivered, but also geographically!

Join Us

Culture isn't just about free coffee or quirky wallpapers at Binapani. It's about passion. It's about creating waves in the realm of education. We believe not in long hours, but in hours that count. Your novel ideas? They're the sparks we cherish. Every script you write could be the reason a student finally gets it — and never forgets it.

• Forget about traffic jams or the monotony of cubicles. Work where your creativity flows best.
• Flexible hours — write when your brain is at its sharpest, not when the clock demands it.
• Creative freedom to experiment with style, tone, and format.
• Immerse yourself among like-minded thinkers, dreamers, and changemakers redefining education.
• Credits for your work on the YouTube channel and website.
• Certificate / Letter of Recommendation for contributors.
• A real shot at long-term collaboration as the channel and team grow.
