Job summary

Astra Source in Bengaluru seeks an Education Counsellor to guide students seeking overseas study opportunities. You will assist with applications, craft personal statements, and secure references while providing visa guidance and documentation support.

You will also lead information sessions, conduct market research on destinations, and collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth, successful client journey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required or completed.
• Fluency in English and strong communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a proactive approach.
• Understanding of higher education courses is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students one-on-one regarding overseas education opportunities and course/university selection.
• Assist with applications, including personal statements, references, and documentation.
• Provide career guidance and help students make informed decisions about studies abroad.
• Conduct information sessions and webinars for students and families.
• Manage the end-to-end student application process, including visa guidance and interview prep.
• Stay updated on visa regulations, admission criteria, and popular study destinations.
• Regularly follow up with students to monitor progress and provide ongoing support.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a coordinated counseling approach and client satisfaction.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Student Counselling: Provide one-on-one counseling to students regarding overseas education opportunities, including course and university selection, application procedures, and visa requirements.
• Application Assistance: Assist students in preparing and submitting applications, including writing personal statements, securing references, and completing necessary documentation.
• Career Guidance: Offer insights into various career paths based on the students academic interests and professional goals, helping them make informed decisions about their education abroad.
• Information Sessions: Conduct information sessions and webinars for students and their families, addressing concerns and providing detailed explanations about studying abroad.
• Process Management: Manage the entire student application process, from initial inquiry to final enrollment, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for students. Visa Assistance: Guide students through the visa application process, including documentation, interview preparation, and follow-ups.
• Market Research: Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in overseas education, including changes in visa regulations, admission criteria, and popular study destinations.
• Follow-Up: Regularly follow up with students to monitor their progress, address concerns, and provide ongoing support throughout their application journey. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure a coordinated approach to counseling and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Bachelors or Master’s Degree (Completed)
• Fluency in English, Communication and confidence
• Go-getter with a positive attitude
• Understanding of Higher Education courses / industry is an added advantage
