Overview: We are seeking a skilled SAP Data Volume Management Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing data volume within our SAP systems. As an SAP Data Volume Management Consultant, you will play a crucial role in implementing strategies to effectively handle data growth, optimize storage, and ensure optimal system performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis and Assessment: Conduct thorough analysis of SAP system data structures, growth trends, and storage utilization to identify opportunities for optimization.
2. Strategy Development: Design and implement data volume management strategies within SAP environments, focusing on data archiving, purging, and compression techniques to enhance system performance and efficiency.
3. Implementation and Execution: Execute data volume management initiatives within SAP systems, oversee data archiving processes, and ensure compliance with established data retention policies.
4. Performance Monitoring: Monitor SAP system performance metrics related to data access, storage, and retrieval. Proactively identify potential bottlenecks and recommend improvements to optimize data access times and storage utilization.
5. Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with SAP functional teams and stakeholders to provide guidance on data volume management best practices. Conduct training sessions to ensure understanding and adherence to established data management policies.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Create comprehensive documentation outlining data volume management procedures, guidelines, and performance metrics. Generate reports to communicate the effectiveness of data volume management strategies within SAP systems.

Requirements:

1. Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with a focus on data volume management, within complex SAP environments.
2. SAP Expertise: Profound knowledge of SAP Data Archiving, Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), and SAP HANA database concepts e.g. NSE. Experience with SAP S/4HANA data volume management is highly desirable.
3. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of SAP tools and methodologies for data archiving, purging, and compression. Familiarity with relevant SAP modules and their data structures.
4. Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis techniques and tools to assess SAP data growth patterns, system performance, and storage utilization.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional SAP teams, convey technical concepts clearly, and conduct training sessions.
6. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant SAP certifications in Basis administration or data management would be advantageous.
