Role
  • Coordinate for the preparation and implementation of QA/QC policies & procedures for Mechanical activities in projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implement stringent measures to ensure high-quality standards at all stages of the project.
  • Review Welder Performance Qualification (WPS) & Project Quality Report (PQR) and job procedures.
  • Witness Welder Qualification tests as per WPS.
  • Conduct internal audits of subcontractors/vendors.
  • Inspect fit-up and weld visuals of Structure & Piping as per approved drawings, code requirements & specifications.
  • Inspect the alignment of Structure and piping as per drawing, codes, and standards.
  • Coordinate with the site team for line checking through Isometric drawing, GAD, P&ID.
  • Identify the root causes of welding-related problems and take corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare & maintain QC documents as per project requirements.
  • Interpret Radiography films & acceptance.
  • Review loop-wise Line History Sheet (LHS) of piping.
  • Carry out mechanical completion activities as per drawing and specification.
  • Carry out Pre-commissioning activities of piping & structure as per Project specification.
  • Maintain ASME Documents of Welding & Inspection.
  • Prepare QAP and ITP.
  • Inspect materials: Visual inspection, dimension verification, verification of correctness, identification, and correlation with manufacturer’s test certificates.
  • Review welding procedures and performance qualification records.
  • Inspect CS, SS, DSS, and Alloy Steel Piping weld joints.
  • Ensure applicable welding procedures and welders are employed for welding.
  • Qualify welding procedure and welder as per ASME Sec IX.
  • Review PWHT Charts.
  • Coordinate with the site team for Mechanical Clearance of Piping Loops.
  • Coordinate with the site team for Hydrotesting & Leak testing of completed piping loops & systems.
  • Arrange PMI Inspection for material and welds as per procedure.
  • Deploy RT source as per requirement.
  • Review documents related to the project like Project Quality Plan, Project Scope of Work, Submitted Quality Control Procedures, etc.
  • Inspect raw materials to confirm compliance with Material Test Certificates.
  • Ensure sound fit-up, visual, dimensional inspection, and monitoring of welding parameters before and during welding as per the Approved WPS.
  • Conduct Visual Inspection & ensure NDT coverage applied as per contract and Coordination with NDT Personnel’s.
  • Ensure all required Inspections for Stage Wise Clearance / Final Clearance of Materials for Blasting & Painting or further Processes.
  • Witness all stages of blasting and coating operation, i.e., surface profile measurement, WFT/DFT measurement, repair of damaged coating, etc.
  • Raise and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
  • Provide interpretation of applicable codes & specifications & project requirements.
  • Document any deviation, clarification & waivers through NCRs.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent traveling to project sites situated all across the country or globe.

Experience Requirements

Previous experience in Oil & Gas, Heavy Chemicals, Fertilizers, Industrial Construction projects.
