Job summary

Ericsson in Bangalore is seeking skilled GPP 5G L2 software designers to join global development teams. You will contribute to the evolution of Ericsson 5G NR and help define how millions connect worldwide.

The role requires 2–4 years in telecom software, strong C/C++ and embedded systems experience, and knowledge of 3GPP 5G NR standards. Cloud-native and virtualization familiarity are a plus in a dynamic, multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in telecom software development with specialization in 5G L2.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems programming.
• Solid understanding of 3GPP 5G NR standards and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance GPP 5G L2 software modules (Scheduler L2 preferred).
• Collaborate with global teams on the full product development lifecycle.
• Innovate solutions for 5G NR capabilities with a view toward 6G readiness.
• Debug, test, and integrate features to meet industry standards and operator requirements.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure best practices.

For the first time, we are opening doors for highly skilled GPP 5G L2 software designers in India to be part of our global development teams. This is your chance to contribute directly to the evolution of Ericsson 5G NR and play a critical role in defining how millions connect and communicate worldwide.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance GPP 5G L2 software modules. Preference is for candidates with Scheduler (L2) experience.
• Collaborate with global teams on the full product development lifecycle.
• Innovate solutions for 5G NR capabilities with a forward-looking eye toward 6G readiness.
• Debug, test, and integrate features to meet stringent industry standards and operator requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure best-practice implementations.

The Skills You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in telecom software development with specialization in 5G L2.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems programming.
• Solid understanding of 3GPP 5G NR standards and protocols.
• Experience in multi-core, multi-threading programming, and performance optimization.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in cloud-native and containerized network functions.
• Knowledge of O-RAN and virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications in telecom.
