Job description

Seeking a talented DBA with System Administration skills.

The ideal candidate must have 3+ years of DBA experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MSSQL Server, and Oracle, and experience in server patching and license management, along with good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, upgrades, daily support, and monitoring of primary/standby databases.
• Monitor database and server performance and identify current and future potential bottlenecks.
• Assist the development team in pipeline automation and configuration, and jobs to monitor and/or automate tasks required to maintain databases.
• Gather and communicate database performance metrics for internal and external audiences.
• Manage a mix of both physical and cloud-based database servers.
• Implement, manage, and tune high availability 24×7 databases.
• Establish policies and procedures pertaining to data management, security, access control policies, maintenance, and utilization.
• Develop, manage, and test database backup recovery strategies, verifying data integrity.
• Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations.
• Proactively monitor and tune for performance.
• Responsible for capacity planning and recommending paths to account for application growth that are in line with industry best practices.
• Experience/Working knowledge in managing Linux and MS Windows servers.
• Manage database objects like tablespace, user, table, index, roles, privileges, profiles, DB links, materialized views, partitioning, synonyms, sequences, views, and other database objects.
• Create physical/logical standby databases and perform switch-over and fail-over.
• Drive performance tuning, monitoring performance using tools.
• Configure Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Organizational Units.
• Ensure maximum uptime with maximum throughput to meet established service-level agreements (SLAs), ensuring backup integrity, and providing support to development and application support groups as needed.

Working with monitoring systems, antivirus & patch management, knowledge & working on system security techniques, configuring firewalls, and basic knowledge of cloud computing.
