Sense in Chennai, India, is seeking an experienced Civil & Structural 3D Modeler / Senior Designer to develop and maintain 3D models using SP3D and Tekla Structures. The role requires 8–12 years in industrial projects with expertise in RCC and steel detailing, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings, plus cross-discipline coordination.

Diploma in Civil Engineering is required; degree holders will be considered. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

• Diploma in Civil Engineering required for Designer/Modeler role with potential for degree consideration based on experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil/structural detailing standards and construction drawings.
• Experience with SP3D and Tekla Structures is essential; familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred.

Mansioni

• Develop and maintain Civil & Structural 3D models using SP3D and Tekla Structures.
• Model RCC and structural steel components such as equipment foundations, pipe racks, industrial buildings, platforms, stairs, and handrails.
• Prepare GA drawings, RCC detail drawings, structural steel detail drawings, foundation drawings, and fabrication/construction drawings.
• Generate 2D deliverables from 3D models using AutoCAD/MicroStation.
• Coordinate with Civil, Process, Piping, Mechanical, and E&I disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, modeling standards, and quality requirements.
• Support model reviews, clash checks, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Job Title

Experience

• 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in industrial projects
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, FMCG, or Heavy Engineering projects preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Civil & Structural 3D models using SP3D, Tekla Structures, software.
• Model RCC and structural steel components such as:
  • Equipment foundations
  • Pipe racks
  • Industrial buildings
  • Platforms, stairs, and handrails
  • Technological structures
• Prepare and extract:
  • General Arrangement (GA) drawings
  • RCC detail drawings
  • Structural steel detail drawings
  • Foundation drawings
  • Fabrication and construction drawings
• Generate 2D deliverables from 3D models using AutoCAD/MicroStation.
• Coordinate with Civil, Process, Piping, Mechanical, and E&I disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, modeling standards, and quality requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in SP3D and/or Tekla Structures.
• Working knowledge of:

  • Construction drawings and standards
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple disciplines.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma in Civil Engineering (for Designer/Modeler role).
• Degree holders may also be considered based on experience.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Knowledge of US/Indian engineering practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Exposure to MTO/BOQ generation from 3D models.
