We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in 3D/2D CAD design, GD&T application, plastic component design, tooling knowledge, and packaging design for embedded/electronic products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using NX, CATIA, or Creo
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure design intent, manufacturability, and interchangeability
- Design plastic components (enclosures, housings, brackets) considering mold‑flow, draft angles, wall thickness, and material behavior
- Coordinate with tooling/mold vendors on DFM, tool design reviews, and mold trial issue resolution
- Design mechanical packaging/enclosures for embedded electronic products (PCB fit, connector placement, thermal/EMI considerations, ingress protection)
- Prepare BOMs, tolerance stack‑up analysis, and design validation documentation
- Collaborate with electronics, firmware, and manufacturing teams for design integration
- Support prototype builds, DVT/PVT testing, and design iterations based on test feedback
Required Skills
- Proficiency in one or more: NX, CATIA, Creo (Siemens NX preferred, others acceptable)
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or ISO equivalent)
- Experience in plastic part design and injection molding processes
- Knowledge of tooling/mold design fundamentals (gate location, ejector pins, parting lines)
- Experience designing mechanical enclosures/packaging for embedded/electronic products
- Familiarity with tolerance stack‑up analysis and DFM/DFA principles
- Working knowledge of materials (engineering plastics, metals) and finishing processes
Preferred / Good to Have
- Exposure to IP‑rated enclosure design (ingress protection standards)
- Knowledge of thermal management for electronic enclosures
- Understanding of EMI/EMC shielding considerations in mechanical design
Qualifications
- Education B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience 3-7 years of relevant experience (adjust based on seniority level)
