Job summary

One Of Us in Bengaluru seeks an experienced 2D DFX Supervisor to lead the compositing team and translate the VFX Supervisor’s vision into ready-to-deliver shots. You will oversee lookdev templates and perform technical checks to ensure fidelity.

You’ll mentor artists, drive cross‑department collaboration with lighting, FX, and roto, and resolve workflow challenges to maintain top creative and technical quality.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Nuke knowledge and comp supervision experience.
• Strong eye for photorealism, integration, and image balance.
• Confident in guiding teams, presenting work, and resolving blockers.
• Thorough understanding of 2D workflows, tech checks, and shot structure.
• Experience leading compositing on multiple high-end shows.
• Familiarity with ShotGrid or similar tracking tools.
• Background in colour pipelines, CG compositing, and delivery workflows.
• Excellent communicator, sharing information clearly and actively listening.
• Strong time management, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and elevate delays in a timely manner.
• Adaptable to change with the ability to stay focused and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Shot Supervision: Oversee compositing across shots for technical and creative alignment; deliver client-ready work.
• Lookdev: Establish and maintain comp lookdev templates or reference setups.
• Tech Checks: Review plates, mattes, and final renders before comp ingest and delivery.
• Cross-Department Liaison: Work with lighting, FX, DMP, and roto/prep to ensure integration.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve workflow, render, or integration issues.
• Mentorship: Guide compositing leads, seniors, and mid-level artists; lead 2D delivery across the project.
• Delivery Oversight: Ensure shots are finaled, QC’d, and ready for internal or client delivery.
• Communication: Bridge between comp and downstream departments; flag blockers early.
• Feedback: Provide clear, actionable notes and iterate toward final quality.

The 2D DFX Supervisor oversees compositing delivery for a show or sequence, ensuring shots uphold the VFX Supervisor’s vision. They lead the comp team, review technical and creative output, maintain continuity across departments, and ensure deliveries meet the highest creative and technical standards.

Duties:

• Overall: Act as an enabler and driver of the VFX Supervisor’s creative vision, at times being the primary force ensuring it is maintained. Guide the team to deliver that vision consistently, keeping all work creatively and technically aligned.
• Shot Supervision: Oversee compositing across shots and sequences, ensuring technical and creative alignment. Ensure comp shots are delivered clean, complete, and client-ready.
• Lookdev: Establish and maintain comp lookdev templates or reference setups.
• Tech Checks: Perform in-depth reviews of plates, mattes, and final renders before comp ingest and delivery.
• Cross-Department Liaison: Work with lighting, FX, DMP, and roto/prep to ensure integration.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve workflow, render, or integration issues.
