FDYS Gorey Youth and Community project is seeking a Youth & Community Work Assistant to support activities and initiatives that promote personal and social development in young people and the wider community in Gorey.
Sessions run in the afternoons, evenings and at weekends; training is provided and Garda Vetting is required. This is a developmental opportunity with no prior experience necessary, and you will join a committed team delivering quality youth work under NQSF standards.

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

The successful candidate will become part of FDYS Gorey Youth and Community project and will support the existing Youth and Community team in the delivery of activities and initiatives, which enhance the personal and social development of young people and the wider community. Sessions will occur during afternoons, evenings and weekends. Other aspects of the role include planning, reporting, training, team meetings and evaluation. The work is delivered in accordance to NQSF (National Quality Standards) adhering to the attainment of national outcomes, policies and legislation governing youth work. All positions are subject to successful Garda Vetting.
