Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

The Acorn Project requires a caretaker for the grounds associated with a busy youth center in Edenderry. Duties will include:

• Mowing Lawns
• Litter Control
• Strimming and Hedge Trimming
• Pesticide Control
• Maintenance of Buildings
• Machinery Maintenance
• Performing routine repairs, such as painting, fixing furniture, changing bulbs, and addressing minor issues.
• Assisting in a Soccer Program once a week.
• Maintenance of Astroturf.
• Assisting in Allotments Year Round (Growing fruit and veg with young people and youth worker).

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Willingness to engage with training.
• Garda vetting.
• Positive attitude and willingness to engage.
• Motivated and willing to pitch in.
• Respect of confidentiality.
• Physical fitness for lifting and site upkeep.
