Job summary

Elk Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Yard Supervisor for our client in Cork City. You will oversee daily yard operations, coordinate bulky material handling, and ensure safe, efficient storage and logistics.

Experience with forklifts, cranes, or other heavy machinery is highly desirable, as is a focus on safety and team supervision. This permanent role offers development opportunities and a negotiable salary based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Steel Yard Manager in managing daily steel yard operations to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.
• Loading and unloading of steel materials using forklifts and cranes.
• Organising and maintaining inventory to ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently.
• Supervising and coordinating the activities of yard personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Overseeing inventory control by tracking steel stock levels and organizing material storage efficiently.
• Coordinating with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and dispatch of steel materials.
