Cork Builders Providers Ltd. is seeking a Yard Operations Manager for our Blackpool, Cork location.

The role focuses on the efficient running of the yard, managing manpower and profitability, and delivering excellent customer service to trade professionals and DIY customers. Based in Blackpool, Cork, the role requires leadership of yard operations, adherence to health and safety standards, and effective coordination of deliveries and collections.

Qualifications

• Experience as foreperson or manager desirable.
• Health & Safety awareness.
• Knowledge of building products.
• Experience in a busy builders providers is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure secure, efficient, safe, tidy operation of the yard, store and delivery areas.
• Deliver the highest standard of customer service.
• Coordinate deliveries and collections for retail and trade customers.
• Maintain stock levels and monitor inventory.
• Ensure Health and Safety compliance within the yard.
• Delegate housekeeping in the yard and surrounding areas.
• Train staff and keep qualifications up to date.
• Strive to reduce costs and overtime through efficient yard management.

Principle Objective

Reporting to the Branch Manager, The Yard Operation's Manager will be responsible for the efficient running of the yard in terms of manpower, profitability as well as delivering an excellent service to our customers. This role is based in Blackpool, Cork

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous Foreperson or managerial experience desirable
• Health & Safety Awareness
• Knowledge of building products
• Previous experience of working in a busy builders providers is an advantage but not essential

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the secure, efficient, safe, tidy and smooth operation of the yard, store & delivery areas of the branch
• Ensure that our customers receive the highest standard of customer service
• Organisation of deliveries and collections for both retail and trade customers
• Responsible for the Health & Safety within the yard, ensuring quality standards are consistently kept to the highest level
• Responsible for the delegation of housekeeping in the yard and surrounding areas.
• Maintaining and monitoring stock levels
• Ensuring safe loading/unloading of customer or suppliers vehicles in line with Health and Safety policy and procedure
• Hands on approach to delegation and supervision of employees in an efficient and effective manner
• Ensuring all staff training is current and up to date
• Consistently striving to reduce and improve all aspects of the yards costing, including hacker’s costs as well as overtime costs etc.

Contract Type

• Full time 39 hour contract
• Working week Monday to Saturday with one day off. Not every Saturday required however flexibility is required.
