Job summary

Cork Builders Providers, part of Chadwicks Group (Grafton Group Plc), seeks a Yard Operations Manager to lead yard, store and delivery activities in Blackpool, Cork. You will ensure safe, efficient operations and exceptional service for trade professionals and DIY customers.

The role requires prior supervisory experience, strong health & safety awareness, and knowledge of building products. You will coordinate deliveries, supervise staff, and drive cost-efficiency while maintaining high service

Qualifications

• Prev. Foreperson or managerial experience desirable.
• Health & Safety awareness.
• Knowledge of building products.
• Experience in busy builders providers is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure secure, efficient, safe, tidy operations of the yard, store and delivery areas of the branch.
• Deliver highest standard of customer service to our customers.
• Organise deliveries and collections for retail and trade customers.
• Oversee Health & Safety within the yard and ensure quality standards are met.
• Delegate housekeeping in yard and surrounding areas.

Cork Builders Providers, Fitz Boreen, Mallow Road, Blackpool, Cork, T23 V978, is part of Grafton Group Plc’s Chadwicks Group, the market leader in Ireland’s builder’s merchanting industry. Principle Objective

Reporting to the Branch Manager, The Yard Operation's Manager will be responsible for the efficient running of the yard in terms of manpower, profitability as well as delivering an excellent service to our customers. This role is based in Blackpool, Cork

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous Foreperson or managerial experience desirable
• Health & Safety Awareness
• Knowledge of building products
• Previous experience of working in a busy builders providers is an advantage but not essential

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the secure, efficient, safe, tidy and smooth operation of the yard, store & delivery areas of the branch
• Ensure that our customers receive the highest standard of customer service
• Organisation of deliveries and collections for both retail and trade customers
• Responsible for the Health & Safety within the yard, ensuring quality standards are consistently kept to the highest level
• Responsible for the delegation of housekeeping in the yard and surrounding areas.
• Maintaining and monitoring stock levels
• Ensuring safe loading/unloading of customer or suppliers vehicles in line with Health and Safety policy and procedure
• Hands on approach to delegation and supervision of employees in an efficient and effective manner
• Ensuring all staff training is current and up to date
• Consistently striving to reduce and improve all aspects of the yards costing, including hacker’s costs as well as overtime costs etc.

Contract Type

• Full time 39 hour contract
• Working week Monday to Saturday with one day off. Not every Saturday required however flexibility is required.
