Job summary

BnM is seeking a Wind Farm Technician to join our team at Mount Lucas, Ireland. You will work with a small team, performing maintenance on wind turbines in line with OEM procedures and targets set by the maintenance manager.

Responsibilities include operating substations, fault diagnosis, and occasional travel to other wind, solar and battery sites. The role requires HV awareness, IT proficiency, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Electrical Craft Certificate (QQI Level 6) or equivalent.
• 5 years' experience in Power Generation or industrial plants.
• IT proficiency and familiarity with HV operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain wind turbines with OEM procedures while meeting safety and maintenance targets.
• Operate and maintain substations to maximise plant availability and safety.
• Carry out fault diagnosis and work at heights as required.
• Proactive problem solving with hydraulics and electrical know-how; HV experience desirable.
• Willingness to travel to other sites and cover on-call duties.
• Support the development of the Maintenance team through communication and teamwork.
• Comply with Health and Safety provisions and company policies.

The Role

BnM currently has an opening for a Wind Farm Technician to join our team. Wind farms are maintained by a small team of technicians reporting to the maintenance manager. They are responsible for achieving challenging maintenance, engineering, commercial, safety, environmental, quality and personal development targets.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

• Maintenance of wind turbines alongside OEM technicians in line with OEM procedures while ensuring maintenance plans and targets for the team in line with OEM's procedures are achieved safely and economically.
• Operating and maintenance of substations to achieve maximum plant availability, efficiency and safety in line with maintenance plans.
• Carry out fault diagnosis as required, ability to work at heights.
• Pro-active and creative in problem solving with hydraulics and electrical experience. Experience with high voltage operations is desirable.
• Willing to travel to other wind, solar and battery sites to carry out role as required and cover on call.
• Progress the ongoing development of the Maintenance team through good communication, involvement and teamwork.

• Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:

• Electrical Craft Certificate - QQI Level 6 required. An electrical / mechanical trade qualification recognised in Ireland is required. Should possess appropriate technical qualification including a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
• 5 year's experience in Power Generation or Industrial plant experience.
• IT proficient and familiar with HV operations.
