The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit seeks an experienced Battalion Chief to lead wildland firefighting and emergency operations in a mission-driven environment. You will cultivate partnerships with agencies and volunteers, oversee budgets, and support strategic growth while maintaining high safety and performance standards.

• Five or more years in emergency work with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience in incident management and interagency coordination.
• NWCG/NIMS credentials or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff and volunteers.
• Strong budgeting, grants, and administration skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead Emergency Services programs and teams with direction and standards.
• Respond to emergencies and disasters, filling incident command roles.
• Build relationships with partner agencies, districts and volunteers.
• Manage budgets, grants, purchasing, and resource tracking.
• Oversee recruitment, training and succession planning.
• Promote safety culture through risk management and reviews.
• Coordinate with Battalion Chief and Field Commanders for unified operations.
• Support Chief with strategic planning and long-term growth.
