Job Description

Our client, Dundrum Steel Rhd Limited t/a ODS (O’Dwyer Steel), based in Dundrum, Co. Tipperary, is currently seeking Welders for immediate start at their facility in Dundrum, Co, Tipperary. Qualifications: 1-3 years’ of previous welding experience required. Welding Certification preferred but not essential. There are no minimum academic requirements. Further training will be provided on-the-job as required. Candidates must be able to mig weld, perform fillet welds and read drawings.

• To operate welding equipment in order to join metalwork pieces together
• To use fusion welding processes based on various techniques and materials
• To perform simple visual inspection of welds
• To perform fillet welds, mig welding and to read drawings
• To wear appropriate protective gear and adhere to safety standards
• To smooth burred surfaces and recognise metal imperfections
• This role requires knowledge of welding techniques, torch temperature for metal processes, metal thermal conductivity and fuel gas
• Essential knowledge includes welding from drawings (2D and 3D), mig welding and fillet welds
• Essential skills include aligning components, joining metals and operating welding equipment, including oxy-fuel torch
• Candidates must be competent to apply arc welding techniques and precision metalworking techniques
• Candidates must be competent to ensure correct metal temperature and handle fuels
• Candidates must have experience in recognising signs of corrosion and removing inadequate workpieces
• Candidates must have experience in performing metal active gas welding and inert gas welding
• Candidates must be able to mig weld, perform fillet welds and read drawings
• Welding certification preferred but not essential
• Candidates must have 1-3 years’ of relevant experience as a Welder

Annual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour
