Job summary

Duggan Allied Steel Limited, Millstreet, Co. Cork, is seeking Welder-Fabricators for immediate start. Requires a minimum of 3 years’ welding & fabrication experience; welding certification preferred. Responsibilities

• Ensure safety with PPE and procedures.
• Handle metals and measure, bend, cut and shape pieces as required.

Job Description

Our client, Duggan Allied Steel Limited, based in Millstreet, Co. Cork, is currently seeking Welder-Fabricators for immediate start for their facility in Millstreet, Co. Cork.

Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years’ welding & fabrication experience is required. There are no minimum academic requirements. Welding certification is preferred.

• -To operate welding equipment in order to join metalwork pieces together
• -To use fusion welding processes based on various techniques and materials
• -To perform simple visual inspection of welds
• -To perform fillet welds, mig welding and to read drawings
• -To wear appropriate protective gear and adhere to safety standards
• -To smooth burred surfaces and recognise metal imperfections
• -To use sheet metal to construct roofs, ducts for heating & vents, gutters and other metal structures
• -To read plans and determine type and amount of materials to be used
• -To measure, bend, cut, shape and attach pieces if metal to create structure required
• -This role requires knowledge of welding techniques, torch temperature for metal processes, metal thermal conductivity and fuel gas
• -Essential knowledge includes welding from drawings (2D and 3D), mig welding and fillet welds
• -Essential knowledge includes metal joining technologies, metal thermal conductivity, rivet types and metal types
• -Essential skills include aligning components, joining metals and operating welding equipment, including oxy-fuel torch
• -Essential skills include operation of handheld riveting equipment, interpretation of 2D & 3D plans, and tending metal sawing machine
• -Candidates must be competent to apply arc & spot welding techniques and precision metalworking techniques
• -Candidates must be competent to ensure correct metal temperature and handle fuels
• -Candidates must have experience in recognising signs of corrosion and removing inadequate workpieces
• -Candidates must have experience in performing metal active gas welding and inert gas welding
• -Candidates must have 3 years’ of relevant experience as a Welder-Fabricator-Welding certification preferred

Annual remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour
