Job Description

The Role: Perform welding repairs on truck bodies, frames, and trailers using MIG, TIG, Stick, and other welding techniques as required. Fabricate custom components, brackets, or parts as needed for repairs or upgrades. Repair cracked or damaged metal components to restore structural integrity.

Maintenance and Repairs: Collaborate with mechanics to identify damaged parts requiring welding or fabrication. Repair and reinforce truck frames, bumpers, toolboxes, and other components. Assist in modifications or customizations for vehicles based on client requirements.

Cutting and Grinding: Use cutting torches, plasma cutters, and grinders to remove damaged sections or prepare surfaces for welding. Ensure all cuts and welds are precise and aligned with specifications.

Safety and Compliance: Follow all workplace safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE at all times. Inspect work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure safe operation and prevent hazards. Ensure all welding work meets industry standards and local regulations.

Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections of completed welds to ensure durability and quality. Maintain high standards of workmanship to minimize rework and downtime.

Documentation and Communication: Maintain detailed records of repairs, materials used, and time spent on projects. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications: Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Knowledge of truck structures, materials, and repair methods. Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, or crouching). Comfortable working in noisy, dusty, and sometimes hot or cold environments.

Preferred Qualifications: Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder). Experience with aluminum and stainless steel welding. Familiarity with heavy truck repair and maintenance processes.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or apprenticeship in welding or fabrication (preferred). Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in an automotive or heavy equipment environment.
