Job summary

Stryker in Cork, Ireland (Model Farm Road) is seeking a technician for a weekend shift (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) to help ensure manufacturing processes run consistently and meet performance targets.

You will interface with cross-functional teams, monitor yield, troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems, and support equipment maintenance, calibration, and changes while adhering to EH&S and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate/ Diploma in Engineering, Science, related discipline or hold a trade qualification in electrical, mechanical or related discipline
• Experience with electronics and software control systems
• Entry level experience in a modern manufacturing environment ideally with exposure to low/medium voltage electrical power systems, pneumatics, PLCs, instrumentation, hydraulics, calibration, AutoCAD, injection moulding
• Experience in the medical device industry is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Ensure manufacturing processes run consistently and meet performance targets
• Interface with cross-functional team members and third party Vendors
• Monitor and manage production yield performance on assigned lines
• Liaise with Team Leaders regarding productivity and efficiency issues
• Engage in mechanical/electrical/electronic troubleshooting and hardware/software interfacing issues
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems to identify hazards, defects and repairs
• Communicate with Operators regarding issues and watch-outs on the lines
• Test electrical systems, circuits and wiring in processing equipment and fixtures
• Plan, layout and install processing equipment on work stations
• Maximise equipment productivity and minimise yield loss
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and calibration activities
• Identify spare requirements and source/replenish spares
• Perform equipment qualification and projects work
• Design, specification and testing of equipment changes
• Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety requirements
• Build quality into all work
• Provide out-of-hours support when required
• All other duties as assigned
