Job summary

Coffey is seeking an experienced MEICA engineer to lead upgrades and commissioning across multiple water and wastewater sites in Ireland. You will manage capital works programs, budgets and quality, supervise subcontractors, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a degree or diploma in environmental science or mechanical engineering (or related), at least 3 years in the sector, chartered status or working toward it, and a full Irish driving license.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferable but not essential.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Chartered status or working towards status.
  • Proven track record in delivering technical designs.
  • Full clean Irish driver licence and authorised to work in Ireland (Stamp 4/critical skills).

Responsibilities

  • Manage plant upgrades and maintenance across water/wastewater sites.
  • Ensure compliance with EC Directives, contracts and safety standards.
  • Address emergencies with assessment and permanent fixes.
  • Induct and manage subcontractors for capital works.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for replacement equipment and materials.
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities for Coffey projects.
  • Develop and deliver site-specific operating procedures and maintenance plans.
  • Roll out Coffey Water's SCADA system regionally.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to minimise upgrade impact.
  • Identify commercial and optimisation opportunities.
