Job summary

EPS Group is looking for Water Treatment Plant Operators to join their Dundalk and Drogheda wastewater treatment teams in County Louth. The role involves operating and maintaining water treatment processes, monitoring plant performance, and contributing to routine tasks and site upkeep.

Candidates should have experience in water treatment or similar processes, a mechanical/electrical background is beneficial, and a full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants (or similar)
• Experience operating mechanical and electrical plant and machinery
• Full clean driving licence required
• Must be local to the area and able to access site as needed

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine operational duties and regular maintenance tasks.
• Monitor processes and perform some daily laboratory analyses.
• Complete record sheets and collect process samples.
• Perform general housekeeping and site cleaning.
• Operate and oversee plant equipment with basic maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Work on a stand-by and call-out rota and may work weekends/bank holidays.

Job Description -Water Treatment Industry Process / Trade Operator

This is a multi-disciplined organisation and job role, so all experienced applicants from associated disciplines are welcome.

EPS require a number of Water Treatment Plant Operator to work on the Dundalk and Drogheda wastewater treatment plants in county Louth. The role requires a good understanding of the Water Treatment process.

Plant Operator

• Water industry process experience would be beneficial but experience from a similar industry will be considered. A mechanical / electrical background would be beneficial
• Routine operational duties and regular maintenance tasks are a basic function of this role.
• General duties both inside and outside in all weathers.
• Process monitoring including some minor laboratory analysis will be required daily.
• Completing record sheets and taking process samples.
• Manual work may be required from time to time.
• Role ranges from process control, operation of equipment and monitoring to basic mechanical maintenance and repair.
• General housekeeping activities such as cleaning and washing plant and areas down and grounds maintenance also required.
• Treatment process is fully automated and has a comprehensive control system. Proficiency in IT/computers important.
• Working alone at times. Awareness of need to follow formal procedures and safe working methods essential.
• Flexibility with hours of work is vital for this role including weekend work and bank holiday work.
• The role requires participation in a regular stand by and call out rota.

Skills / Attributes

Good use of reading English and excellent inter-personal skills and communication skills.

Computer literacy and ability to use spreadsheets and other basic computer programmes necessary.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively on your own or in a team environment.

Have a willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and waste water Industry

Requirements

Experience in the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants - although similar process experience will be considered

Experience in operating mechanical and electrical plant and machinery required

The person will live in the locality, be able to ensure timely access to the site within the responsibility of the role - so a full clean driving licence is obligatory.

Ability to learn to carry out servicing of equipment and assist the maintenance team with planned maintenance tasks.
