Job summary

Murphy Water is hiring a Laboratory Technician to support the Laboratory and Operations Department in sampling, analysis, and data reporting for water and wastewater treatment across sites in Ireland.

The role reports to the Process Compliance Manager and involves regulatory compliance, optimisation of operational performance, and collaboration with managers, technicians, and clients to improve process outcomes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree qualification is desirable.
• Experience in the Water/Wastewater industry is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; data analysis experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialised chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses on samples from water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Conduct laboratory testing of key water and wastewater quality parameters.
• Support monitoring, optimisation, and troubleshooting of treatment processes.
• Maintain calibration records for laboratory equipment and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with operations teams to provide timely data for plant optimisation.
