Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Project Manager to join the Transportation & Infrastructure team near Dublin. You will be accountable for delivering projects safely, on time and on budget, with direct line management of site teams and responsibility for client relationships and commercial performance.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree and substantial experience in large public civil infrastructure projects, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex site-based

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent trade certification.
• Experience with Construction/Public Works contracts.
• Proven track record in managing complex site-based public civil infrastructure projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client/subcontractor relations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with contract requirements.
• Set the overall standard on the projects/contract.
• Ensure project requirements are identified and delivered.
• Identify issues and resolve them in a controlled and timely manner.
• Plan, review and deliver contract programmes.
• Line manage Site Managers, Site Engineers and Section Managers.
• Maintain effective client relationships and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments and review as required.
• Resolve operational issues with escalation to Project Director/Contracts Manager.
• Oversee all commercial activities including gross margin, cost control and financial metrics.

Murphy is recruiting for a Project Manager to work with our Transportation & Infrastructure team on projects in and around Dublin.

What you will be doing:

• To be fully accountable for the delivery of the projects, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, in accordance with the contract requirements and to budget.
• Sets the overall standard on the projects/contract.
• Ensure the project requirements are identified and delivered.
• Identify issues and ensure they are resolved in a controlled and timely manner.
• To ensure contract programmes are planned, reviewed, and delivered.
• Line management of Site Managers, Site Engineers and Section Managers.
• Responsible for effective client relationship management, collaborative approach and providing updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress.
• Endure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required.
• Will be expected to resolve most operational issues with any business-critical issues referred to the Project Director and Contracts Manager.
• Responsible for all commercial activities associated with the project including the delivery of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics.
• Overall performance management of subcontractors of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics.

Who we are looking for:

• Hold Civil Engineering, Construction Management Degree or a relevant trade certification
• Experience in Construction Contracts in particular Public Works Contracts.
• Experience within a Project Managerial role.
• Experience in managing complex site-based projects.
• Experience of working on large public civil infrastructure projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to develop close working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
