Job summary

Kepak Group is seeking a dedicated professional to monitor and optimise our wastewater treatment plant. You will operate, inspect, and maintain the effluent system, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and safe handling of chemicals.

The role emphasises proactive maintenance, teamwork with site engineering, and strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. Training will be provided, with opportunities to grow within the plant operations team.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to clearly convey information.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and maintenance tasks.
• Commitment to delivering high quality service.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Basic IT literacy for monitoring systems and records.
• Experience in wastewater treatment is beneficial but not required.
• Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot the effluent treatment facility.
• Maintain knowledge of operation, methods and procedures of wastewater treatment.
• Keep up to date with wastewater discharge norms and consent limits.
• Understand physical, chemical and engineering aspects of treatment processes.
• Inspect and perform daily checks on plant performance and maintain records.
• Complete planned maintenance during weekend shutdowns.
• Establish preventative maintenance schedules.
• Perform regular draining and cleaning of the plant.
• Coordinate with site engineering and hygiene teams during breakdowns and maintenance.
• Maintain daily communications with site management.
• Ensure safe storage of chemicals in line with policy.
• Work in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Carry out any other duties as required.
