Wastewater Treatment Senior Operator – Co. Kerry

The Wastewater Treatment Senior Operator is responsible for the operation of wastewater treatment processes within an assigned area. This includes plant operations, sludge and water treatment, routine maintenance, coordination of large tasks, and the rollout of operational initiatives. Out‑of‑hours working, overtime and standby rates apply.

• Support the Wastewater Treatment Operations Team Lead and mentor Wastewater Treatment Operators.
• Coordinate large or complex tasks and allocate resources with the Team Lead.
• Operate wastewater treatment processes, including sludge treatment and routine maintenance.
• Roll out operations initiatives such as process testing, compliance improvements and training & development.
• Share knowledge between teams and coordinate team events.
• Deliver consistent customer service and manage environmental impacts.
• Escalate issues, support audits, incidents and event management, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
• Operate and maintain the plant: control equipment, inspect, calibrate, lubricate, replenish consumables.
• Adhere to task schedules, SOPs and close work orders.
• Take process samples, respond to SCADA alarms, maintain spare stocks, tools and equipment.
• Coordinate chemical deliveries and safe storage.
• Complete administrative tasks: timesheets, work orders, purchase requests, H & S records, inventory management.
• Conduct plant checks, inspections, and report findings via Maximo.
• Implement process optimisation recommendations.
• Issue permits for contractors and ensure compliance.
• Record, capture and report data for audits and asset management.
• Perform reactive investigations, raise work requests, and support Key Account Managers and Customer Contact teams.
• Support the operation of newly commissioned/upgraded assets and undertake site training.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and perform risk assessments.
• Escalate issues to the Team Lead and liaise with Asset Planning.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours and standby working.
• Maintain daily housekeeping and minor ground maintenance.

Wastewater Network Senior Operator – Co. Kerry

The Wastewater Network Senior Operator supports the operation of the wastewater network infrastructure, leading teams to carry out routine maintenance, investigations and customer service. Out‑of‑hours working, overtime and standby rates apply.

• Supervise teams to deliver consistent customer service and routine maintenance across the network.
• Assist with sewer surveys, identify infiltration or stormwater issues, clear blockages and respond to alarms.
• Monitor chemical dosing, odour control and support compliance and sampling activities.
• Communicate with customers about issues, investigate escalated complaints, and manage risk.
• Record and report operational information via technology systems, including H & S records and inventory.
• Manage material requisitions, record incidents, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ensure health & safety compliance, conduct risk assessments and use PPE.
• Operate & maintain vehicles responsibly, ensuring stock levels.
• Adhere to task schedules, SOPs and close work orders; support SOP development.
• Work with third parties/contractors to support network activities.
• Issue permits and enforce health & safety procedures.
• Engage internal & external stakeholders (landowners, contractors).
• Track and monitor team activities, update timesheets and generate reports.

Wastewater Network Maintenance & Repair Senior Operative – Co. Kerry

The Wastewater Network Maintenance & Repair Senior Operative plans and performs planned and reactive maintenance and repair activities across the wastewater network infrastructure to deliver consistent customer service. Out‑of‑hours working, overtime and standby rates apply.

• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance and repair (burst, collapse, blockages, pumping station repairs).
• Respond to alarms, resolve issues (sewer flooding, CCTV surveys, pumping station blockages, overflows, underground work).
• Identify and resolve site problems, conduct testing after repairs.
• Operate and maintain 3.5/4.2 tonne vehicles; HGV required as needed.
• Support incident and emergency response; maintain health & safety standards and pollution classifications.
• Escalate issues and capture data for operational plans.
• Carry out proactive sewer cleaning.
• Maintain stock levels in vehicles.
• Update systems, report incident data and GIS updates.
• Issue permits for contractors and enforce health & safety procedures.
• Mentor operatives and support the Team Lead.
• Coordinate team activities, verify timesheets, authorise leave.
• Record and report audit data on assets.
