CREGG Recruitment are currently hiring a Waste Handler for Day shift for our client in East Clare. This position is for 6 weeks only and requires the candidate to have own transport in East Clare.

Details

Days – 8am to 4:30pm (Mon to Thurs) and 8am to 3pm (Fri). Pay rate – €14.11/hr.

Requirements
  • HEP vaccinations recommended as per waste industry standard.
  • Ideally has a forklift licence.
  • Own transport – No public transport.
  • Experience in area.
  • Available for a 6 week contract – Cover.
Responsibilities
  • Collect, transport, and dispose of waste materials in compliance with site policies and safety regulations.
  • Segregate waste into categories: chemical, biohazardous, general, and recyclable.
  • Ensure proper labelling and containment of hazardous and biohazardous waste.
  • Operate and maintain waste compacting machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor waste storage areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist in the safe handling and transfer of chemical and hazardous waste following regulatory guidelines.
  • Keep accurate records of waste volumes, types, and disposal methods.
  • Report any spills, leaks, or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.
  • Support recycling initiatives by ensuring recyclable materials are sorted and processed correctly.
  • Follow all PPE (personal protective equipment) requirements and safety procedures during waste handling activities.
