Job description

Role Title : Warehouse Operations Manager

Business Unit : DHL Global Forwarding

Location : Cork

Reports to : Head of Implant Community

Days & Hours of Work : 07.00 – 15.30 Monday – Thursday, 07.00 – 14.30 Friday. Flexibility essential to fulfill role requirements.

Accountabilities

Key Activities
  • Organize and manage daily operational activities of the team, ensuring completion within deadlines (replenishing, shipping, goods receiving).
  • Manage shift schedules and provide cover plans for holidays and absences in collaboration with the customer.
  • Manage materials in warehouse and third-party warehouses, liaising with the customer on deliveries.
  • Manage cycle counts, ensuring they are added and completed on time.
  • Manage returns from manufacturing.
  • Ensure transfer orders and requirements are executed and cleared.
  • Order and maintain PPE equipment for the team.
  • Ensure all Power Industrial Vehicle training/licences are up to date.
  • Oversee handovers to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain daily communication with the customer.
Team Management & Development
  • Mentor team members to develop their skills and support growth.
  • Maintain records of annual leave and absences.
  • Conduct return-to-work interviews and manage absenteeism issues.
  • Handle disciplinary issues in collaboration with HR.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set targets, and monitor progress.
Other Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with revenue, trade legislation, data protection, and company policies (H&S, Quality, Environmental, HR).

  • Self-motivated, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Results-oriented with attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong administrative and customer service skills.
  • Qualifications: Leaving Certificate required; forwarding/logistics qualification and Qualified Known Consignor are desirable.
