About the team

The RTÉ Commercial team are responsible for delivering sustainable and growing revenues across the breadth of RTÉ current and future platforms and products. We are looking for an experienced Digital Video Sales professional to lead the innovation, commercialization, and revenue growth of RTÉ’s digital video ecosystem, anchored by RTÉ Player. Reporting to the Head of Trading you will deliver Revenue Leadership & Commercial Strategy by transforming first-party data, premium content, and cutting-edge ad solutions into market-leading, scalable media products. You will own and grow the digital video revenue line, with full accountability for RTÉ Player monetization.

About the role
  • Develop and execute strategies that maximize yield through innovative ad formats, data-driven targeting, and premium content experiences to ensure RTÉ’s digital video inventory is positioned as a must-buy in the Irish media market
  • Lead the commercial roadmap for digital video, integrating content, data, and ad tech to drive audience engagement and advertiser value
  • Translate innovation into revenue through new monetizable formats, sponsorships, and data-enriched ad products
  • Act as a senior ambassador for RTÉ at industry events, conferences, and JICs
  • Stay ahead of global trends in streaming, digital video, and data privacy to maintain RTÉ’s leadership position
  • Select and manage partners that enhance RTÉ’s ability to activate and monetize first-party data
  • Foster a culture of creativity, agility, and commercial impact across teams
  • Launch internal innovation programs that surface and scale new ideas from across the organization
About you
  • Have a proven track record in digital media sales, product innovation, or commercial strategy, ideally in video or streaming
  • Have strong and sustainable relationships with clients and agencies
  • Have a deep understanding of the Irish and global digital video landscape
  • Possess strong commercial acumen with experience in data driven monetization
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Are a visionary thinker with a bias for action and results

This appointment will be made at the Manager grade 2 scale and is being offered on an ongoing contract basis. The salary scale for this grade is from €72,605 to €101,840 gross per annum.
