Description Overview

The Vice President and Global Head of Communications will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the company's brand, reputation, and market presence. This role involves overseeing internal and external communications, media relations, and crisis management initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with proven experience in global communications within the CPG Self Care industry.

Scope of the Role

• Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate communication strategy aligning with the company's goals. Reconsider all aspects of Perrigo’s internal and external brand ecosystem including branding, visual presentation, brand language, tone of voice, and market positioning.
• Content Creation & Corporate Branding: Develop and implement corporate brand messaging and positioning strategies. Oversee the creation of internal and external communication materials and digital strategies, such as newsletters, social media, intranet content, emails, and presentations.
• Crisis Communication: Lead crisis communication efforts, including scenario planning, risk assessment, and mitigation, ensuring timely and effective messaging.
• Collaboration & Thought Partnership: Work closely with senior leadership and departments to ensure messaging alignment. Build relationships with media outlets, industry influencers, and partners.
• Culture: Collaborate with HR to develop initiatives promoting positive company culture and employee engagement.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities and risks. Incorporate innovative communication technologies and approaches.
• Measurement: Evaluate internal communication strategies and adjust as needed.
• Leadership: Lead all internal and external non-financial communication initiatives, including media and public relations.
• Team Leadership: Mentor a global team of communication professionals, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. Oversee content creation, strategy, and stakeholder communications.
• Executive Presence: Serve as a spokesperson, representing the company in media interviews, public speaking, and industry events.

Experience & Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, marketing, journalism, or related field; master's preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in corporate communications, with at least 5 years in senior leadership within the CPG industry.
• Proven success in leading communication strategies in complex organizations.
• Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Expertise in media relations and crisis management.
• Strategic thinking and data analysis skills.
• Experience managing budgets and digital platforms.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks related to corporate communication.
