The Connected\Politics Lab at the UCD School of Politics and International Relations invites applications for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow (Level 1) to work on the project Arguments that Decide: Computational Argumentation Analysis of EU Council and Parliamentary Committee Deliberations, led by Dr James Cross.
This role is a full-time, 12-month Post-doctoral Research Fellow (Level 1) position and is based at Rinn Artificial Intelligence (Rinn AI), a national centre for research and innovation in data science and AI funded by Research Ireland. Rinn AI will train over 300 PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in a diverse and interdisciplinary research environment.
Reporting to Dr James Cross, the successful candidate will lead the empirical work at the heart of the study. Key outputs include an argument-extraction pipeline, an annotated corpus of EU committee deliberations, and two to three journal articles.
Salary Range: POST DOC LEVEL 1: €47,273 - €53,925 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The PD1 position is intended for early stage researchers, either just after completion of a PhD or for someone entering a new area for the first time.
