The University College Dublin invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Post-doctoral Research Fellow (Level 1) in the Connected_Politics Lab, based at Rinn AI. The appointee will lead the empirical work on the project 'Arguments that Decide: Computational Argumentation Analysis of EU Council and Parliamentary Committee Deliberations', reporting to Dr James Cross.

Salary range €47,273 - €53,925 per annum. Closing date 14 September 2026.

Qualifications

• PhD completed or near completion in a related field.
• Experience conducting empirical and computational analyses.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the empirical work at the heart of the project.
• Develop an argument-extraction pipeline.
• Create an annotated corpus of EU committee deliberations.
• Publish two to three journal articles.
