Job summary

Aramex in Dublin is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee the movement of goods across the supply chain, optimize routes, and lead a team of transportation coordinators. You will work with 3PLs to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries while maintaining compliance with regulations.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in transportation management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in transportation management.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT, hazmat, and customs requirements.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and fleet management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily transportation operations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries of goods.
• Oversee the selection of carriers and third-party logistics providers.
• Ensure transportation activities align with company goals and customer expectations.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce transportation costs without compromising quality or service.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
• Monitor transportation budgets and generate reports on cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, national, and international regulations.
• Oversee driver safety training and performance evaluations.
• Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track on-time deliveries, costs, and service levels.
• Continuously improve processes to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the transportation network.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of carriers, drivers, and transportation personnel.
• Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track on-time deliveries, costs, and service levels.
• Continuously improve processes to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the transportation network.
• Work closely with other departments such as procurement, warehouse, and customer service to ensure a seamless flow of goods.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with warehouse teams and suppliers.
• Leverage transportation management systems (TMS) to streamline processes and ensure real-time tracking of shipments.
• Recommend and implement technological solutions to enhance transportation efficiency.
• Provide regular reports on transportation metrics, such as delivery performance, cost per mile, and carrier performance.
• Use data analytics to identify trends and propose solutions for continuous improvement.
