Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Transport Engineer for established Irish engineering consultancies. You will contribute to planning, design and delivery of transport projects across residential, commercial and public sectors, working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in transport engineering, traffic engineering or transport planning.
• Level 8 degree in Civil/Transport Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status or progress towards accreditation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare TIAs, Transport Assessments, Mobility Management Plans and Travel Plans.
• Undertake traffic modelling, junction capacity assessments and traffic analysis.
• Contribute to the design of junctions, road layouts, access arrangements and car parks.
• Support delivery of transport planning, active travel, bus priority and traffic management projects.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and design documentation for planning applications.
• Ensure designs comply with DMURS, TII Publications and local authority requirements.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Contribute to project coordination, stakeholder engagement and technical reviews.

Our clients are established engineering consultancies delivering transport planning and infrastructure design projects across Ireland. Job Summary

The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, design and delivery of transport engineering projects across residential, commercial, public sector and infrastructure developments, working alongside multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA), Transport Assessments, Mobility Management Plans and Travel Plans.
• Undertake traffic modelling, junction capacity assessments and traffic analysis.
• Contribute to the design of junctions, road layouts, access arrangements and car parks.
• Support the delivery of transport planning, active travel, bus priority and traffic management projects.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and design documentation for planning applications and project delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, including DMURS, TII Publications and local authority requirements.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Contribute to project coordination, stakeholder engagement and technical reviews.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in transport engineering, traffic engineering or transport planning.

• Knowledge of Irish design standards, including DMURS and TII Publications.
• Experience with traffic modelling software such as PICADY, ARCADY, OSCADY or TRANSYT is desirable.
• Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Chartered status or progress towards professional accreditation is desirable.
• Full driving licence is desirable.
• Competitive salary, depending on experience (3+ years €40,000-€50,000, any Senior candidates with 5+ years €50,000+)
