Job summary

Jones Engineering in Cork is seeking an Electrical Estimator for our Transmission & Distribution projects. You will work with the Bid Manager and a multidisciplinary team to deliver tender packages for LV, MV and HV schemes from early concepts to final submissions, based in our Cork office.

The role offers junior-level exposure with in-house training, a structured development path, and the opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or Construction Management.
• Trade background with Transmission & Distribution project experience considered.
• Experience in construction / engineering / utilities is advantageous.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office systems required.
• In-house training will be provided as this is a junior role.

Responsibilities

• Tendering on a variety of large-scale projects in the Transmission & Distribution sector.
• Involved in full tender process from beginning to completion.
• Electrical LV, MV & HV tender packages.
• Liaising with relevant parties on an on-going basis.
• Attending pre and post tender interviews.
• Assemble sub-contract quotes while ensuring they comply with the spec.
• Attend meetings both internal and client based where required.
• Completing take-offs from tender drawings.
• Using estimating software packages.

Job Description

As Electrical Estimator, you will play a role in our project development and implementation process. You will work closely with the Bid Manager as well as a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to deliver cutting-edge projects. Current requirements allow for a base in our Cork office.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Tendering on a variety of large-scale projects in the Transmission & Distribution sector.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Degree Qualification / Graduate in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or Construction Management considered.
• Trade background may also be considered with Transmission & Distribution project experience.
• Experience in construction / engineering / utilities is advantageous.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office systems required.
• Demonstrated appetite for continuous learning and personal development.
• As this is a junior role, in-house training will be provided.
