Job summary

Jones Engineering in Cork is seeking a Transmission and Distribution Engineer within Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) Engineering to lead project delivery and ensure milestones are met. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess designs, review drawings, and manage civil sub-contractors on renewable energy projects.

The role offers a clear pathway to Chartered Engineer status as you broaden your knowledge across civil, electrical and construction disciplines, while fostering

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years’ site-based construction experience.
• Experience with renewable energy projects (wind/solar) onsite.
• Experience with 38kV to 220kV substations and BESS.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Strong electrical engineering knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Manager on progress, risk, and issues.
• Analyse supplier/sub-contractor information for design alignment.
• Review and understand technical drawings and project specs.
• Design reviews, validate equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with electrical designers to meet civil specs.
• Produce technical submittals, RFIs, reports and trackers.
• Identify scope gaps in design documentation.
• Coordinate and audit civil sub-contractors.
• Assist with Civil & Structural drawings and BIM input.
• Maintain civil design logs.
• Assist with Tendering processes.
• Review on-site quality for compliance with the project team.
