Job summary

Transway are recruiting an experienced trailer fitter for the build, repair and maintenance of commercial trailers, working to technical drawings and a high standard of quality and safety.

You will fit, assemble, repair and maintain trailers, work on suspension, axles, braking systems, lighting and bodywork, read and work from diagrams, weld as needed, and inspect work to ensure quality and safety on site. This role requires good attention to detail and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven trailer fitting / commercial vehicle build experience.
• Mechanical aptitude; welding/fabrication ability is an advantage.
• Ability to read from drawings and to specification.
• Good attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Right-to-work or permit eligibility; Sama manages permit and mobilisation for overseas hires.

Responsibilities

• Fitting, assembly, repair and maintenance of commercial trailers.
• Work on suspension, axles, braking systems, lighting and bodywork.
• Reading and working from technical drawings and diagrams.
• Welding and fabrication as required to complete fitting tasks.
• Inspection and testing of completed work for quality and safety.
• Compliance with all workshop and site H&S procedures.
