Job summary

Engage People Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Python developer to design and build front-office tools for a busy trading desk in Dublin.

You will work directly with traders, turn ideas into production software, automate desk processes, and own applications end-to-end in a live market environment.

Strong SQL and data engineering fundamentals are essential, and you must be confident collaborating with traders and other front-office stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on Python development (building real tools, not just scripting).
• Proven experience in a trading / front-office environment (ideally in securities, derivatives, or securities financing).
• Solid SQL and data engineering fundamentals.
• Confidence working directly with traders and other front-office stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build front-office tools, analytics, and workflow apps in Python.
• Automate repetitive desk processes and introduce AI where it adds real value.
• Own applications end-to-end: design, build, testing, monitoring, and support.
• Triage incidents and resolve issues quickly in a live trading environment.
