This role will serve as the primary owner of daily cash reconciliation in Aladdin and SS&C/Geneva operating models and support related investment accounting (IBOR) and operational activities across Artisan's equity, fixed income, and emerging and frontier market portfolios.

The Associate will be responsible for daily cash reconciliation and exception management across a broad range of asset types, from equities and fixed income securities to emerging and frontier market debt instruments. In this role, the Associate will perform key beginning-of‑day data quality checks in Aladdin, troubleshoot position, pricing, cash, and other data discrepancies, and serve as the primary liaison with BlackRock to investigate and resolve related data issues.

This is a hands‑on operational role in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organized and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities and priorities throughout the day. The individual should demonstrate strong attention to detail, the initiative to investigate issues, and the ability to engage the appropriate partners to drive items through to resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Own the daily cash reconciliation process across the Aladdin and SS&C/Geneva operating models for all asset types, including equities, fixed income, and emerging and frontier market debt; investigate exceptions, identify root causes, and coordinate timely resolution with internal teams and external service providers
  • Perform daily and periodic data quality control checks in Aladdin, including reviews of positions, cash, pricing, and other key investment data; investigate and troubleshoot beginning‑of‑day data issues and serve as the primary liaison with BlackRock to drive related issues through resolution
  • Prepare and process accounting adjustments necessary to maintain complete and accurate investment books and records
  • Partner closely with other Trade Operations functions to coordinate transaction processing, corporate actions, cash activity, and other events impacting portfolio accounting, and assist with certain collateral management activities as needed
  • Support the firm's class action process, including taking ownership of assigned operational responsibilities, coordination, recordkeeping, and follow‑up with relevant internal and external parties
  • Support account transition activity, including new account launches, ensuring required accounting and operational activities are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Respond to operational inquiries and information requests from internal business partners, auditors, custodians, and other service providers
  • Maintain documentation supporting key operational controls and ensure established procedures are consistently followed
  • Assist with the maintenance of the IBOR/accounting system and participate in testing of operational enhancements as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control of daily processes while contributing to team initiatives as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience; previous Aladdin and/or Advent Geneva experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and the securities trade lifecycle
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the initiative to investigate issues and drive them through resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and changing priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
  • Proactive and responsive work style with a strong sense of urgency; comfortable taking ownership of tasks and following up with others to ensure timely completion
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple operations teams and with external service providers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with portfolio accounting or investment operations systems preferred
  • Experience with Advent Geneva or similar portfolio accounting platforms is a plus
  • Technical aptitude and interest in using data and technology to improve operational processes is desirable
