Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment in Dublin is seeking an experienced Trade Operations professional to liaise with brokers, custodians, and counterparties to resolve trade-related issues. You will collaborate with Trading and Front Office teams to expedite resolution and monitor settlement status throughout the trade lifecycle.

The role requires at least 2 years in trade operations, with a solid understanding of settlement workflows, SWIFT messaging, and end-to-end trade processing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience within trade operations, investment operations, or a similar financial services environment.
  • Relevant academic or professional qualifications are desirable.
  • Previous experience in trade matching and settlement, with a good understanding of settlement workflows and SWIFT messaging.
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle, from execution through to settlement.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise directly with brokers, custodians, and other counterparties to investigate and resolve trade-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Trading and Front Office teams to accelerate and resolve issues with counterparties where required.
  • Monitor trade settlement status and investigate discrepancies, failed trades, and settlement exceptions.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Client Service, and other internal teams to resolve time-sensitive trade flow queries.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks associated with trade processing and settlement.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with counterparties and service providers across the trade lifecycle.
  • Support internal and external reviews, working with relevant stakeholders to investigate and resolve operational issues.
  • Investigate and resolve interest claims and associated issues arising from trade processing or settlement delays.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, enhanced controls, and operational risk reduction.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient, scalable, and robust trade operations processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving operational issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
