Job summary

Chadwicks Group, part of Grafton Group Plc, is seeking a Trade Counter Assistant for Robinhood Road. The role focuses on providing knowledgeable, friendly and dependable service to customers while optimising branch sales and gross profit.

You will build relationships, identify sales opportunities, achieve sales and margin targets, and maintain an orderly counter area in line with company policy. A Permanent, full-time position, 39 hours per week, with benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a busy builder provider is preferable.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales and margin targets.
• Sales experience selling a broad range of products.
• IT literacy and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Build effective working relationships with customers to understand requirements and supply the correct products.
• Identify sales opportunities, offer advice and solutions to maximize profitable sales and margins.
• Achieve sales and margin targets.
• Maintain a clean and well-merchandised counter area in line with company policy.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately and in line with company procedures.
• Oversee stock re-order for selected product lines and manage stock levels in relevant departments.
• Liaise with suppliers as required.
• Support the Branch Manager and team to operate efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain a tidy working environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Principle Objective

The role of Trade Sales Advisor is to provide our customers with a knowledgeable,friendlyand dependable service whilst at the same time optimising branch sales and gross profit, promote the company's products and services in a professional manner and deliver a superior standard of customer care to our existing customers.

Knowledge & Experience

• Previousexperience working in abusy builder providerpreferable
• A proventrack recordof achieving and exceeding both sales and margin targets
• Sales experience selling a broad range of products
• IT Literacy

Key Responsibilities

• Build effective working relationships with customers,in order tounderstand their requirements thus ensuring that the correct products are supplied

• Maintain a clean and effectively merchandised counter area in line with company policy
• Ensure that company policies arefollowed at all timeswhen producing paperwork associated with sales
• Responsible for the re-order of selected product linesand alsoensuring that stock levels of selected product lines within the relevant department i.e. Plumbing, Timber, Steel and Ironmongery aremaintainedatappropriate levels
• Liaise with suppliers where necessary
• Support the Branch Manager and colleagues in working as a team to ensure the branchoperatesefficiently and effectively within company policy
• Always ensure a tidy working environmentin line with health and safety guidelines
