Job summary

MGS Mfg. Group in Ireland is seeking a tooling apprentice to support toolmakers within a high-volume injection moulding operation as part of Generation Apprenticeship. You will gain hands-on experience in tooling, fitting and assembling parts, and contributing to tool builds and trials.

The role emphasizes teamwork, IT and communication skills, with a proactive, self-starting attitude and the ability to work under supervision to meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Keen interest in the tooling department.
• Good knowledge of injection moulding and tooling importance in the process.
• Understanding of troubleshooting and repairs/maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Compile standard specifications and monitor moulds to specifications.
• Assist toolmakers with fitting and assembling dies, jigs, gauges, and tools.
• Support tool builds and initial tool trials/validations.
• Carry out tool changes and essential cleaning of parts and tools.
• Document work and comply with quality systems and safety rules.
