Job summary

Litec Moulding Ltd in Sligo, Ireland, is seeking a specialist toolmaker to support tooling maintenance in a high-volume injection moulding environment. You will be a technical resource for production and troubleshooting to optimise current multi-cavity tooling.

The role requires hands-on experience with multi-cavity, hot runner and valve-gated moulds, knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electronics, and a hands-on approach to lean problem solving.

Qualifications

• Toolmaking qualification and time served in a mould maintenance environment.
• Experience with multi cavity, hot runner and valve gated moulds.
• Solid knowledge of injection moulding processes.
• Experience with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote high standards in health and safety and housekeeping.
• Carry out daily preventative maintenance on multi cavity injection mould tooling.
• Liaise with Production team in troubleshooting mould problems and quality issues.
• Responsible for Jigs & Fixture manufacture and maintenance.
• Inspection and measurement of tooling spare parts.
• Adherence to spare part management system and documentation.
• Attend internal meetings to help establish priorities and tasks.
• Promote teamwork culture within the facility.
• Ensure documentation is filled out per procedures.
• Support tooling transfer processes.

Your mission at LINDAL

You will be a specialist technical resource for tooling maintenance, responsible for supporting production and troubleshooting activities. To optimise the output of the current multi cavity tooling in a high volume, injection moulding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote high standards in health and safety and house-keeping
• Carry out daily preventative maintenance tasks on a variety of multi cavity injection mould tooling
• Liaise with Production team in troubleshooting mould problems and quality issues
• Responsible for Jigs & Fixture manufacture and maintenance
• Inspection and measurement of tooling spare parts
• Adherence to spare part management system and accompanying documentation
• Attends internal meetings to help establish priorities and assigned tasks
• Promoting a teamwork culture within the facility
• Ensure all relevant documentation is filled out as per company procedures
• Supporting tooling transfer processes

Your profile

• Toolmaking qualification plus time served with a toolmaker, with experience in a mould maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of latest mould tool technology.
• Good understanding of the injection moulding process.
• Previous experience in the manufacture and/or repair/maintenance of the following mould types would be a distinct advantage:
• Multi cavity moulds
• Hot Runner moulds
• Valve gated moulds
• Knowledge of Electrics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics would be an advantage.
• Possess a good understanding and application of lean principles and problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to use troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of plastics and mould types.
• Computer literate e.g. Solid Works, MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint would be an advantage.
