Job summary

Elite Talent Hub is seeking a Timber Frame Designer for a long-established timber processing and green tech leader operating across Ireland and the UK. You will prepare timber frame design drawings, coordinate information for projects, and support production from design through to manufacture.

The role requires 3+ years in timber frame or modular design, proficiency in AutoCAD, and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in timber frame, light gauge steel or modular construction design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Experience developing drawings for new and existing projects.
  • Familiarity with digital project delivery processes.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop timber frame design drawings and technical information in line with project requirements.
  • Manage design programmes to ensure deliverables are aligned with project timelines and contractual commitments.
  • Support the estimating team by providing technical input and value engineering at tender stage.
  • Work closely with Production to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, design teams and external consultants on technical queries and project coordination.
  • Support site teams by responding to design-related queries during project delivery.
  • Maintain and manage accurate design documentation and revisions.
  • Collaborate with the wider design team to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and customers.

Timber Frame Designer

A long-established, multi-site timber processing and green tech leader operates across Ireland and the UK. Principal Objective

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Timber Frame Designer is responsible for the preparation and coordination of design drawings and technical information for timber frame projects, ensuring accuracy, quality and alignment with client and manufacturing requirements.

The role plays a key part in supporting project delivery from design through to production, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with agreed specifications.

Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience in timber frame, light gauge steel or modular construction design (preferred 3+ years).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of digital project delivery processes is desirable.
  • Experience developing drawings for new and existing projects.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Contract
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Working Week: Monday to Friday 8:00 – 5:00pm (onsite)
