Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Test and Run Technician to join our service centre in Ireland. You will test electrical/mechanical equipment, service and clean units returned from hire, and update records using IT systems. You’ll help with parts identification and ensure timely, cost-effective repairs.

You will support engineers, assist with loading/unloading, and help maintain a safe, tidy workshop. The role offers training, development, and clear progression within Sunbelt Rentals.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
• Basic electrical skills (12/24v).
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to use tools effectively.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• High level of commitment to health and safety.
• Previous experience in hire industry or other engineering field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical and functionality testing, servicing and cleaning of equipment returned from hire.
• Update service records using IT systems and identify spare parts for timely repairs.
• Assist engineers with assembling larger equipment and loading/unloading with drivers.
• Support workshop operations to keep workspace safe, tidy and efficient.

About The Role

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Test and Run Technician to join our friendly Sunbelt Rentals service centre team.

In this busy role you will carry out basic electrical and functionality testing as well as servicing and cleaning products returned from hire to ensure they are safe, reliable and presentable and ready for rehire. Your duties will include updating service records using IT systems and identifying when spare parts are needed to ensure repairs are timely and cost effective.

You’ll be a key member of the team and be comfortable working flexibly to support the overall service centre operations, for example ensuring that the workshop is safe and tidy, assisting engineers with assembling larger equipment or supporting drivers with loading and unloading equipment from vehicles.
