Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant for term-time operation at St Columba's College, Whitechurch, Dublin 16. The role runs 11:00–19:00, approx. 40 hours weekly, with a permanent full-time contract.

The package includes competitive hourly pay and additional leave and benefits. Responsibilities include assisting in food prep, serving meals, adhering to food safety standards, and maintaining a clean, efficient dining environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service or hospitality industry preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and work schedules.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
• Serve meals and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a hygienic work environment.
• Restock serving lines, condiment stations, and dining areas as needed.
• Assist with inventory management and storage of food items and supplies.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and concerns.
• Participate in cleaning and organizing kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist with special events and catering services as required.
