The Tendring & Estimating Intern will support tendering activities, gaining exposure to both technical and commercial aspects of project delivery.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Preparation of project quotations, estimates and tender pricing.
• Review of client RFQs, specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
• Support development and maintenance of detailed tender pricing sheets.
• Preparation of material and equipment quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Issuing enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and obtaining quotations.
• Reviewing supplier quotations against project requirements.
• Assisting with cost comparisons and selection of appropriate pricing allowances.
• Identification and tracking of key tender assumptions, exclusions and clarifications.
• Supporting the preparation and maintenance of tender clarification/RFI logs.
• Assisting in identifying potential scope gaps or conflicting requirements within tender documentation.
• Preparation of supporting commercial and technical information for client proposals.
• Maintaining organised tender documentation and pricing records.
• Liaising internally with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Project Management and Sales as required to develop quotations.
• Supporting continuous improvement of estimating tools, pricing databases, templates and tender processes.

The Tendering & Estimating Intern will support the tendering and estimating process, gaining practical experience in project commercials and the technical aspects of mechanical and/or electrical engineering projects. The role will provide exposure to both the technical and commercial aspects of project delivery and offer a valuable development opportunity for someone looking to build a career in this area.

Key responsibilities

Skills and Experience

• Studying towards or recently completed a qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management,
• Business/Commerce or a related discipline.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• An interest in estimating, project costing and the commercial side of engineering.
• Ability to interpret technical information, drawings and specifications would be advantageous.
