The Tendring & Estimating Intern will support tendering activities, gaining exposure to both technical and commercial aspects of project delivery.

Qualifications

Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Preparation of project quotations, estimates and tender pricing.
Review of client RFQs, specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
Support development and maintenance of detailed tender pricing sheets.
Preparation of material and equipment quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
Issuing enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and obtaining quotations.
Reviewing supplier quotations against project requirements.
Assisting with cost comparisons and selection of appropriate pricing allowances.
Identification and tracking of key tender assumptions, exclusions and clarifications.
Supporting the preparation and maintenance of tender clarification/RFI logs.
Assisting in identifying potential scope gaps or conflicting requirements within tender documentation.
Preparation of supporting commercial and technical information for client proposals.
Maintaining organised tender documentation and pricing records.
Liaising internally with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Project Management and Sales as required to develop quotations.
Supporting continuous improvement of estimating tools, pricing databases, templates and tender processes.
