The Role:

An opportunity has arisen on-shift within the Plant Facilities group for a Technician in support of the following key Operational and Business goals of the Plant:

  • Facilities Plant Maintenance & Operation
  • Key Project Implementation
  • Troubleshooting all areas of the plant as required.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will use their knowledge of engineering principles to provide frontline support to the operation of equipment issues as they arise. They will carry out the following:

  • Planned and Unplanned Maintenance activities
  • Work to Operating Specifications
  • Participate in Training and Development
  • Work in full EHS compliance at all times
  • Implement BKM’s for PM`s and engineering practices
  • Troubleshooting / Root cause Analysis
  • Installations, procurement, upgrades, and modifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • The performance of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and the resolution of issues with electro‑mechanical equipment across the plant.
  • Dismantling, adjustment, repair, and assembly of equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, sketches or drawings.
  • The use of test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
  • May perform equipment modifications as directed by facilities engineers.
  • Facilities plant includes the DI water and effluent treatment plants, chilled water systems, MTHW boilers, air handing systems, acid scrubbers, gas and chemical delivery systems, central vacuum, compressed air, BMS, gas detection systems etc.
  • The role of the support technician is to maintain the supply of services to, and the operating conditions within the cleanrooms to strict specification with regards to temperature, humidity, and particle counts. This requires the maintenance of pressure profiles across areas, regular validations and responding to out of control and stop work notifications.

The suitable candidate will have the following:

  • A minimum level 7 degree or have a level 6 qualification in a relevant trade discipline with experience.
  • A strong engineering knowledge.
  • A thorough understanding of equipment hardware – electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, etc.
  • Good decision-making skills and a logical approach to problem solving
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Will be Quality/Safety mindset
