Job description

Food Ingredients | Nutrition | Quality & Compliance

Are you passionate about science, quality and making a tangible impact within the food and nutrition sector? This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast‑growing SME food ingredients business operating on a global stage, backed by a large, well‑established food group. This is a newly created role, designed to support continued growth and increasing customer and regulatory demands.

Working within a quality‑driven technical team, this role offers real exposure to international customers, suppliers and regulatory frameworks, with the chance to shape best practice rather than simply maintain it.

Role Overview

The Technical & Regulatory Specialist will act as a vital link between suppliers, customers and internal commercial teams, ensuring technical, quality and regulatory product information is accurate, compliant and readily accessible across the business. Reporting into the Technical / Quality Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting audit readiness and enabling the business to scale confidently as its global customer base continues to expand.

Key Accountabilities
  • Act as the technical point of contact for customers on product and regulatory queries
  • Prepare, complete and manage detailed customer questionnaires and technical specifications
  • Maintain and continuously improve product documentation repositories and data management practices
  • Provide high‑quality technical, regulatory and quality documentation to customers in a timely manner
  • Support audit readiness and ongoing compliance with food safety and quality management systems
  • Optimise technical and regulatory processes to support business growth and scalability
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of EU food regulations and dietary supplement regulations (human and animal)
  • Provide regulatory and technical support to Business Development, New Product Development (NPD) and customer interactions
People Profile
  • Degree‑qualified (BSc or equivalent) in Food Science, Biochemistry, Nutraceuticals or a closely related discipline
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience in a technical, regulatory or quality role within B2B food ingredients, nutraceuticals or a related sector
  • Experience working within food safety and quality management systems (BRC Global Standards experience highly advantageous)
  • High proficiency in data management and presentation tools (Excel, PowerPoint or similar)
  • Highly accurate with exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confident working in a fast‑paced, growing business environment
  • Analytical mindset with an interest in process improvement and optimisation
  • Strong communicator with the ability to present technical information clearly, visually and in writing
  • Curious, proactive and willing to continuously learn and develop
  • Flexible, creative and able to build trusted relationships internally and externally
